Objective of Training Course
Course Objectives
At the conclusion of the course,
• Practitioners will improve their knowledge on river basin management and be able to apply the knowledge directly to their institutions
• Trainers will have more knowledge on how to deliver training and develop capacity of RBOs
• Peer to peer exchanges of problems and solutions will enhance knowledge and enhance skills of participants
• Enhance the skills of RBOs to develop and use indicators to monitor their performance on a various functions
This SADC Regional Course on Groundwater Management in IWRM is a collaboration between AGW-Net (Africa Groundwater Network), SADC Groundwater Management Project(GMP), CapNet and BGR (Germany).
AGW-Net was established about in July 2008 as an African capacity building network for groundwater professionals, under the umbrella of CapNet. In line with its mandate, AGW-Net is focused on mounting short courses to improve groundwater capacity in Africa and specifically capacity in Groundwater Management.

This course is another instalment in a series of regional workshops to be delivered by the GWP-C using material developed by Cap-Net partners. Hydro-climatic disasters are responsible for serious disruptions to the functioning of a society or community. Increased climatic variability as a result of climate change is expected to heighten hydro- climatic disasters and the communities exposed to them.
