Water and energy are closely interlinked and interdependent. Energy generation and transmission requires utilization of water resources, particularly for hydroelectric, nuclear, and thermal energy sources. In 2013 a report was developed with the objective of presenting a “Mapping of Integrity and Accountability in Water Resources Management and Relevant Capacities in Latin America” and with the aim to strengthen integrity and transparency in the Latin American water sector by producing a regional mapping report, assembling a team of specialists, and designing a capacity development plan.
WaterCap with collaboration from RCMRD, Tiger Africa and Kenya Water Institute with the support of Cap-Net UNDP will be organizing ‘Training of Trainers (TOT) in the use of Earth Observation Tools for Water Quality Assessment’ from 17 to 21 of February 2014.

The Gender, Water & Development Conference which is supposed to take place from 7-11 July 2014 in East London, South Africa has been postponed to 3-7 November 2014 due to unforeseen circumstances.
The new schedules are as follows:
Mon 3 November 2014: Pre-conference workshops, training courses and meetings
Tues 4 – Fri 7 November 2014: Conference proper
It is advisable for current participants to perform following immediately:
(i) Reschedule your flight so as not to incur extra costs, thereafter revisit your record on the database and insert the new details
