Gender and Water Alliance
Member countries:
In November 2007 the GWA had a membership of 1000 members (consisting of both individuals as well as organisations) in 104 countries worldwide. More than 80 per cent of the members come from countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. About 40 per cent of the members are men, and 60 per cent are women.
Objectives:
The Gender and Water Alliance was created at the Second World Water Forum in the Hague (March, 2000) to mainstream gender in water management worldwide and to promote equitable access to safe and adequate water. It is a global network of organisations and individuals working in the water sector and in gender mainstreaming, striving for incorporation of gender considerations in water policies and practice at all levels.

- Resource materials on gender mainstreaming in IWRM, like: CDs, reports, publications, manuals, guidelines, etc. Available through the website, or on request through the secretariat as hard-copy or CD
