Examples	AQUASTAT is developed by FAO´s Land and Waters Development Division. Its main objective is to provide users information on the status of water management in rural areas with special emphasis in developing and transition countries. A special emphasis is given to water resources, irrigation and drainage. The objective is to describe the particularities in each country, problems found in rural water management, and to present in a summarized form the irrigation tendencies. The country profiles have been standardized and ordered in six chapters: geography and population; climate and water resources; irrigation and drainage development; institutional issues; tendencies in water resources management and main sources of information.
