| Examples | 1. Mutefetcha Irrigation Project The project is located in the Amhara Regional State in Ethiopia. The services rendered by the Enterprise are study and selection of crop under irrigation, engineering design of surface irrigation system together with field layout & infrastructural development. It had also been involved in the assessment of an institutional setup to run the small hold farm based on modern organizational methods for security and income generation. 2. Preparation of Guideline, Manuals and Standard Designs of Irrigation Projects in Ethiopia The Enterprise prepared a high level guideline, manual and standard design for small & medium scale irrigations. The task included preparation of detailed design outlines on the field of hydraulic structures, Irrigation systems, geotechnical & engineering geological studies, water management & civil engineering design works. 3. Kebabao Dam Project The project is located in the Tigray Regional State in Ethiopia. The Enterprise rendered the following services. It selected the dam site based on annual flows of the rivers contributing to the reservoir & yield of the catchment at 75% dependability, including suitability of the abutments & reservoir area. It designed flexible type (earth fill) dam with all appurtenant structures. The job involved geophysical & geological investigations (or stability & water tightness) as well as estimation of construction materials. 4. Hara, Tirike and Buffe Spate Irrigation Projects The projects area is located in the Raya Valley in the Tgray Regional State in Ethiopia. Services rendered by the Enterprise are mainly foundation investigation, hydraulic & structural design of headworks (diversion weirs) for the five spate irrigation systems that irrigate a total of about 200 ha. The Enterprise prepared the detailed design of the irrigation infrastructure by incorporating the existing irrigation & water management practice. |
