| Examples | Created in 1968, is based in Lima, Peru. CEPIS mission is to cooperate with the American countries in the assessment and control of those risk factors, affecting direct or indirectly, the populations' health. CEPIS cooperation towards countries is carried out basically through the dissemination of information, the formation of specialists and by means of technical consultancey. CEPIS contributes permanently to training and personnel formation, developing wide technical information dissemination; courses together with national and international institutions and residence programmes for university professors. Currently, distance and self instructed courses are being prepared. CEPIS facilities also have a modern laboratory, one of the most completed and up-to-date health and environmental libraries in the Region, and a publications department where editing, translation, printing and distribution of materials, guides, modules and other educational packages takes place.
