| Examples | PAHO´s mission has evolved in the course of the years to satisfy the changing sanitation necessities of the Member Countries. Activities include -among others-: assess, prevent and control environmental risks for the public health, with special attention to the most vulnerable populations; understand the way in which social and economical policies as well as others influence people's health; strengthen capacity to analyse the sanitary situation and its tendencies; involve high-level political authorities in health issues by means of meetings, summits or other similar mechanisms; prepare health systems to control natural or intended infection outbreaks.
