3rd National Conference on Water Policy – 27 to 28 June 2017, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Argentine Network for Training and Strengthening of Integrated Water Resources Management (Arg Cap-Net), the Federal Water Council (COHIFE) and the Undersecretariat of Water Resources of the Nation (SSRH) organized and held the 3rd National Conference on Water Policy. The event was held on June 27 and 28 at the Palacio de las Aguas Corrientes (AySA), Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

The objective of the Conference was to promote the participation of stakeholders related to water resources, seeking to include all those responsible in different jurisdictions and areas: politicians, officials, technicians, user organizations, basin organizations, study centers, non-governmental organizations, governmental organizations and, in general, all those institutions and people concerned with water management, one of the problems to be solved in Argentina and in the world in this century.

The 3rd Water Policy Days – 27 to 28 June 2017, Palacio de las Aguas Corrientes (Aysa), Buenos Aires.

Under the motto “Water policy under the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development”, the Federal Water Council (COHIFE), the Undersecretariat of Water Resources of the Nation (SSRH) and the Argentina Network for Training and Strengthening in Integrated Management Of Water Resources (Arg Cap-Net) organized the 3rd Water Policy Days.

The event will be held on 27 and 28 June 2017 at the Palacio de las Aguas Corrientes (Aysa), Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, with the objective of further progress in the analysis of the priority water issues in Argentina, Under the principles of integrated management of water resources and the objectives of the National Water Plan. Deficit in sanitation: A priority issue in Argentina

Every year, UNESCO establishes a theme for reflection to celebrate World Water Day. In 2017, the proposal is “wastewater” which is to emphasize its reduction and reuse, as a potentially affordable and sustainable source of water, energy, nutrients and other recoverable materials.

As part of an event organised by the Undersecretariat of Water Resources of the Nation to present the United Nations World Report on the Development of Water Resources, entitled “Wastewater: the untapped resource”, Victor Pochat-President Of the Argentine Institute of Water Resources  was interviewed by Arg Cap-Net about this topic. Inscription for course on “Integrated Management of Water Resources” arranged by Arg Cap-Net

As part of the master’s programme in in IWRM, the inscription for the course on Integrated Management of Water Resources has been arranged by Arg Cap-Net. The master’s programme in IWRM is an cross-disciplinary postgraduate programme of the National Universities of Córdoba, Cuyo and the Coast, created on the initiative of Arg Cap-Net. It is aimed at professionals from different disciplines, in order to train human resources that promote a change in water management.

Online Course: Introduction to Statistics Applied to Socio-economic Aspects of IWRM

The course was delivered to 15 professionals through Cap-Net’s Virtual Campus (Capacity Development in Sustainable Water Management) from May 30 to July 8, 2016

The course was organized by INA-CELA as part of the Training Program on “Economic and Financial Instruments for IWRM”. Through the use of statistical techniques, the course aimed at training participants in the analysis and interpretation of data associated with water resources socio-economic variables.
