Stimulating innovative water education: Launch of the Panjwani-Hisaar Water Institute Academic Programme

From 30 August to 3 September, the Panjwani-Hisaar Water Institute (PHWI) successfully completed its first course on ‘WATER LAW’ launching in this way the institute’s academic programme. The course was spread over 5 days and it was supported by Cap-Net Pakistan. Among the 40 participants were lawyers, water practitioners, researchers, journalists and policy makers. The course objective was to understand the existing legal environment around water (international, national, provincial and local) and its implications for water governance, management and conservation in Pakistan.

Panjwani-Hisaar Water Institute Ground Breaking Ceremony – 4 May 2018, Karachi, Pakistan.

Pakistan is facing a water crisis that has an impact on all sectors of its economy and to deal with its challenges there are not enough water professionals in the country. To address this shortage Hisaar Foundation, an NGO working in water sector for the last 15 years in collaboration with NED University of Engineering and Technology and Panjwani Charitable Foundation, well known for endowing and setting up educational institutions have launched the first of its kind multidisciplinary Panjwani-Hisaar Water Institute (PHWI). Launch of Recommendations for Pakistan’s National Water Policy Framework – Cap-Net Pakistan January 2017

Continuing on its mission of disseminating the “Recommendations for Pakistan’s National Water Policy Framework” for the consideration of the government in each of the provinces, Hisaar Foundation – a foundation, for water, food and livelihood security- and secretariat host, Cap-Net Pakistan held a launch event in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan on Friday 27th January 2017 at Islamabad Serena Hotel.
